Our tours go to a variety of destinations including a number of local waterfalls including Rainbow falls, Nairn Falls in Nairn Falls Provincial Park and Brandywine Falls in Brandywine Falls Provincial Park. We also visit the high alpine in trips up to the top of Whistler Mountain and the Joffre Lakes in Joffre Lakes Provincial Park. We also have the flexibility to visit a number of other areas on request. If you don’t see a destination that you like let us know and our experienced guides can customize a trip to meet you needs.
We can do overnight hikes to a number of different areas depending on the type of experience that your looking for. Please contact us for more information about our multi day packages.
Good walking shoes or better yet hiking boots are highly recommended. Other essentials include a hat, sunscreen and sunglasses. A backpack will also come in handy although if you don’t have one don’t worry, we’ve got lots you can borrow. A water bottle and a snack are also recommended although both of these can be purchased in our store where all of our tours start.
As far as what you should wear we recommend that you dress appropriately for the weather. If you are going to be visiting the alpine (going to the top of Whistler Mountain) be aware that the temperature is typically 5°c - 10°c cooler. You should also always be prepared for rain so bring a raincoat if you have one. If you don’t we can provide you with one.
It depends on the tour. Our hiking tours range from easy strolls to challenging scrambles and can be customized to meet the needs of anyone. If you are at all concerned about any of our tours please feel to let us know, we are more than happy to suggest the right tour for you!
Not really. Whistler is home to Black Bears and while there are many of them around the reason for this is the abundant amount of natural food around the valley. Bears are primarily interested in foraging for natural food and generally avoid contact with people as much as possible.
You might, but don’t expect to. Bears are unpredictable animals and it is almost impossible to tell when they might appear.
Animals that you are likely to see include Black Bears, Deer, Squirrels, Marmots, Pikas, Bald Eagles, Osprey and Red Tailed Hawks.
Our trips still go ahead rain or shine. We have rain gear for you to borrow if you need some and we try to stay as dry as possible by picking trails that tend to stay drier in wet weather. The mountains are a beautiful place to be rain or shine and wet stormy weather can add a very unique aspect to the whole experience that few people get to experience.
It’s a good idea to bring something to eat, especially on our longer trips. You will probably need a little energy and it’s nice to have a little something to munch on when we take breaks. If you want we can arrange to order a gourmet lunch for you (just let us know when you book) or you can pick up a snack to take with you when you arrive at our store at the start of the tour.
It is definitely a good idea to bring some water. Many of our tours can be very warm on sunny days and it is easy to build up quite a thirst very quickly. We offer bottled water for sale in our store if you forget to bring some with you.
No worries. We have a small selection of boots that might fit you. Otherwise we can always try to modify a tour to avoid putting you in situations where this might be a problem. Either way we can usually work something out.
Of course! We offer many trips and can customize tours to meet the needs of just about anyone. There are many areas around Whistler that offer an exceptional experience and are very challenging. Just let us know what kind of experience you are looking for and our experienced guides will select the trip that is right for you.
